How we ranked them

We compared the welcome offers of every licensed sportsbook in Spain on real value after wagering requirements, minimum odds, time limits and how easy they are to claim. A large headline number with harsh terms ranks below a smaller, fairer offer.

What to look for

  • Wagering requirements: lower is better, 1x to 5x is fair
  • Minimum odds and which bets count towards the rollover
  • How long you have to use the bonus
  • Whether winnings from free bets include the stake

Betting bonuses in Spain after the 2024 ruling

Spain's bonus market has been through a turbulent few years. Royal Decree 958/2020 effectively banned welcome bonuses for new customers, but the Supreme Court annulled that restriction in April 2024, and in 2026 Parliament dropped a further proposed ban from the Customer Service Act. Licensed sportsbooks can once again offer welcome deals, though gambling advertising remains tightly restricted, so offers are mostly found on operators' own .es sites rather than on TV.

Because the market only recently reopened, bonus structures vary more than in some countries. Some sportsbooks lead with free bets, others with a matched deposit, and some currently offer no sports welcome bonus at all. That makes it worth reading the terms rather than comparing the headline figure alone.

Comparing the three offers

1xBet tops this ranking with the largest headline offer: a 100% first-deposit bonus up to €300, and a bonuses rating of 8.9. A matched deposit gives the most value if you were going to deposit that amount anyway, but it also usually comes with wagering requirements before the bonus can be withdrawn, so check the terms on the site.

888sport, second, takes a different approach that we rate highly for cautious newcomers: €10 in free bets on sign-up without a deposit, followed by a first-deposit bonus up to €100. TonyBet, third, offers a 100% first-deposit bonus up to €250 and suits bettors who plan to use its bet builder. Interwetten does not appear because it has no dedicated sports welcome bonus at present.

What to check before you claim

The headline amount tells you very little on its own. Look for:

  • The wagering requirement and the minimum odds that qualifying bets must have.
  • The time limit for meeting the requirements; a short deadline can push you into betting more than you planned.
  • Whether free bet stakes are returned with winnings or only the profit is paid.
  • Which payment methods qualify; some offers exclude certain e-wallets.
  • Whether you can decline the bonus; if the terms do not suit you, betting without one is perfectly reasonable.

Bonuses are not free money

A bonus lowers the cost of trying a new sportsbook, nothing more. It does not change the odds or make winning more likely, and chasing wagering requirements is a common way for spending to drift upwards. Set a deposit limit when you open the account, and remember that from 25 March 2027 Spain's joint limits will cap deposits across all operators combined.
