How online betting is licensed in Mexico
Mexico regulates betting through permits rather than open licences. Under the 1947 Ley Federal de Juegos y Sorteos, the Secretaría de Gobernación (SEGOB) grants a limited number of long-term permits, and every betting website must then be authorised by SEGOB’s Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos (DGJS) under one of them. Several brands can share a permit: Jugabet, BC.Game and Brazino777 all operate under permit P-06/2005-Ter held by Producciones Móviles, while Winpot runs under a separate permit, P-08/2014.
Before depositing, find the permit number and DGJS authorisations in the site footer, then look up the domain on the DGJS list of authorised websites and make sure it is operating rather than suspended. You must be 18 or over to bet. Licensed operators withhold roughly 7% of winnings at source (1% federal ISR plus a state prize tax of about 6% in most states), so payouts arrive net. Our Mexico laws guide covers the draft law that would replace the 1947 act.
Liga MX, the NFL and how Mexicans pay
Liga MX is the heart of the market, with its Apertura and Clausura tournaments building up to the Liguilla play-offs, and El Tri matches draw huge interest. The NFL is a close second: Mexico has one of the biggest NFL followings outside the United States, so it is worth checking how many player props and live markets each sportsbook offers on Sundays. Boxing is another staple, especially on big Mexican fight nights.
Payment habits shape the choice too. Many Mexican bettors prefer cash or bank transfers to cards. OXXO lets you pay a deposit reference in cash at the convenience store chain, and SPEI moves money instantly between Mexican bank accounts; all four sportsbooks here accept both. Winpot and Jugabet also take Mercado Pago, and Winpot lets you deposit and withdraw cash at its land-based casinos through WINPOTCASH. Minimum deposits range from MX$10 at BC.Game to MX$100 at Brazino777.
Comparing Winpot, Jugabet, BC.Game and Brazino777
Winpot leads with 8.1. Its strengths are below-average margins on Liga MX, free live streaming without a deposit, a bet builder and cash out. The drawbacks are real: withdrawals go by SPEI only and can take up to 72 business hours, a seven-step verification including your RFC comes before the first payout, and the 100% bonus up to MX$3,000 carries a 20x rollover at minimum odds of 2.00.
Jugabet and BC.Game both score 7.8. Jugabet offers a 125% first-deposit bonus up to MX$5,000 with a lower 10x rollover, accumulator boosts, 10% weekly cashback and 24/7 live chat, but no bet builder and no published withdrawal times. BC.Game is our esports pick, with a modern, fast site and a wide market range, though it also does not publish payout times. Brazino777 (7.5) has a bet builder for football and basketball and averaged about 24 hours for withdrawals, but its margins are above the market average, there is no live streaming and its welcome package is built around casino play rather than sport.
Whichever you choose, judge any welcome offer by its rollover and minimum odds rather than the headline percentage.
Self-exclusion and support in Mexico
Unlike Spain or Peru, Mexico has no national self-exclusion register, so a break has to be requested from each operator separately. Our responsible gambling ratings reflect thinner tools here than in most markets we cover: Winpot scores 6.3, BC.Game 5.3, and Jugabet and Brazino777 5.0. Set your own deposit limits from day one and do not rely on the sportsbook to step in.
Línea de la Vida, run by CONASAMA, offers free, 24/7 support for addictions, including gambling, on 800 911 2000. Licensed gambling adverts must also show the permit number and a warning that betting is prohibited for minors.
