Yes. Missouri is one of the newest legal sports betting states. Voters narrowly approved Amendment 2 in November 2024, a constitutional amendment backed by the state's professional teams that authorised both retail and online wagering. After the Missouri Gaming Commission wrote the rules and approved licences, sports betting launched statewide on 1 December 2025, with pre-registration opening a couple of weeks earlier.
The Missouri Gaming Commission regulates all operators. The minimum betting age is 21, and the amendment set a 10% tax on operators' revenue, with funds earmarked for education and problem gambling programmes.
Two of our three reviewed sportsbooks are licensed in Missouri: BetMGM and bet365. Both launched on opening day. BetRivers is not currently licensed in the state. With a competitive field of licensed apps, Missouri bettors can compare prices on Chiefs, Royals, Cardinals and Blues games without leaving home.
Accounts can be opened remotely, and geolocation is checked on every bet. In Kansas City, where State Line Road divides Missouri from Kansas, your app will apply the rules of whichever state you are physically in. Kansas also has a legal market, so the main difference is which brands and promotions you see.
Missouri's amendment created licences for the state's casino operators and for its professional sports teams, which can run retail sportsbooks within designated districts around their stadiums and arenas. Each licence holder can partner with an online platform, and a small number of standalone mobile licences were also made available.
Missouri currently allows betting on college sports. Winnings are taxable income at state and federal level, so keep a record of your activity.
Because the market is new, expect welcome offers and features to evolve as operators settle in and the Gaming Commission refines its rules. First-year markets often see strong promotional competition, but always read the terms, including wagering requirements and expiry dates, before opting in to any offer.
Missouri has one of the strongest sporting identities in the Midwest: the Chiefs' dynasty, the Royals and Cardinals in baseball, the Blues in hockey, and two MLS clubs in Sporting Kansas City and St. Louis City SC. Mizzou football has also been on the rise.
Missouri's problem gambling helpline is 1-888-BETSOFF, and 1-800-GAMBLER also offers confidential support. Every licensed app must provide deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion.
