We compared how long licensed sportsbooks in Canada take to process withdrawals with their fastest common payment methods, along with fees, limits and verification requirements.
A withdrawal from a regulated Canadian sportsbook passes through two stages: the operator reviews and approves the request, then your payment provider moves the money. Interac is the most common route in Canada and often one of the quickest, e-wallets can be similarly fast, and card refunds or bank transfers usually take longer.
Regulators in Ontario and Alberta require sportsbooks to verify your identity, and if you have not completed that step your first withdrawal will wait until you have. One advantage Canadians have over US bettors: recreational gambling winnings are generally not taxable in Canada, so a withdrawal does not create a tax bill, though it is still sensible to keep records.
LeoVegas ranks first with the fastest quoted payouts in our Canadian data, 6 to 24 hours with Interac, and the highest payouts rating (9.2) among Canadian books. It also accepts PayPal and Instadebit, giving you alternatives to Interac.
888sport is second and quotes 1 to 5 banking days for Interac and e-wallets. That is slower on paper, but its process is backed by a brand that has been online since 1997. TonyBet is third, quoting up to 48 hours for e-wallets, and it is the only book in this ranking you can use in Alberta. Stake does not appear because we do not yet have confirmed payout times for its Alberta site.
Payout speed also depends on your bank. Interac withdrawals arrive as an e-Transfer, so if your bank uses Autodeposit the money goes straight to your account; otherwise you will need to accept the transfer manually, which can add a delay.
Withdrawing winnings instead of leaving them in your balance is one of the simplest ways to keep betting money and everyday money separate. Use only sportsbooks registered with iGaming Ontario (19+) or licensed by the AGLC in Alberta (18+); in other provinces, the provincial lottery site is the regulated option.
