Bank transfers for larger, traceable payments
A bank transfer, or bonifico bancario, is the most traditional way to move money to and from a sportsbook. It is rarely the fastest, but it suits bettors who prefer to keep everything inside their own bank, want a clear record of every payment, or are withdrawing a larger sum that they would rather not route through an e-wallet. With a PostePay Evolution card, which carries an IBAN, the same approach works through Poste Italiane too.
Five of the six ADM-licensed sportsbooks in our review accept bank transfer: 888sport, William Hill, Eurobet, bwin and Gioco Digitale. LeoVegas does not list it, so it does not appear here.
How the five sites compare
888sport leads this ranking. Its 9.0 payouts rating is the highest of the five, and its long list of methods, including PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, Paysafecard and Apple Pay, gives you faster alternatives when you need them. As with all its Italian payments, make sure you are on the 888casino.it concession site.
William Hill is second. It accepts bank transfer alongside eight other methods, has a 5 euro minimum deposit and a payouts rating of 8.9. Eurobet, third, has the same broad payment list and is the strongest choice for Italian football. Both are useful if you want a bank transfer for occasional larger withdrawals and an e-wallet for day-to-day betting.
bwin and Gioco Digitale also accept transfers. They share the same Entain betting platform and the same concession holder, Eurobet Italia S.r.l., so their cashier processes are similar; choose between them on the sportsbook itself rather than the payment method.
Making bank transfers work
Transfers are reliable, but a little preparation avoids delays:
- Add the reference or account ID the site gives you, or the deposit may not be matched to your account.
- Expect transfers to take longer than cards or e-wallets, especially around weekends and bank holidays.
- Withdrawals go only to an IBAN in your own name, so have proof of the account ready for verification.
- Check with your bank whether it charges for outgoing transfers.
Clear records and responsible betting
One quiet advantage of bank transfers is that every payment appears on your bank statement, which makes it easier to see what betting really costs you over a month. All five sportsbooks are ADM-licensed, display their GAD concession number in the footer and accept only adults aged 18 and over. Winnings from licensed sites are tax-free for the player, and if your statement tells you betting has gone too far, the RUA register and the 800 558 822 helpline are there to help.
